Balnarring Recreation Reserve oval is set to have an improved surface to allow the local sports groups and community to have a safe and high-quality oval.

Funded by the Mornington Peninsula Shire, through Council's Capital Works budget for 2021 – 22 the $1.05 million reconstruction will improve the surface conditions of the oval by improving the drainage of water from the surface and promoting healthy turf growth.

The Reserve is home to Balnarring Cricket Club and Junior Football Club and the new oval will meet AFL standards which is suitable for both football and cricket. The project will also include fencing, new coaches' boxes and other amenities.

The oval is now closed for works to begin and the reconstruction will be finished by April 2022
