Bassendean Incidents

Midland Detectives are investigating two incidents in the Bassendean area yesterday afternoon, 12 August 2020.

About 3:30pm a man attended a liquor outlet on Railway Parade.

The man was asked to leave by a staff member after throwing a sign as he approached the front entrance.

The man picked up a pole and threatened the staff member before a separate customer attempted in intervene. The customer was struck multiple times with the pole causing serious injuries to his head and leg.

Later in the day, around 5pm, a victim was sitting near the corner of Guildford Road and Wilson Road when he was approached by a man. After a short conversation the man attempted to take the victim's bike and a verbal altercation occurred. The man then punched the victim to the nose before fleeing the area on the bike.

The offender in both of these incidents is described as approximately 40 years of age, wearing dark pants, blue jacket and no shoes.
