Media Release Australia's favourite beachside festival reveals stacked 2026 BASSINTHEGRASS line-up
6 November 2025
The Finocchiaro CLP Government has today unveiled the massive 2026 BASSINTHEGRASS line-up, promising a vibrant celebration of live music, sunshine and Territory lifestyle for its 23rd year.
Held on Mindil Beach in Darwin, BASSINTHEGRASS has grown from a local favourite into one of Australia's most unique music festivals, attracting thousands of fans from across the country to dance under endless blue skies.
Tickets are now on sale for Saturday 16 May 2026, with a huge mix of Australian favourites, emerging talent and international artists performing across three stages.
Minister for Major Events and Tourism and Hospitality Marie-Clare Boothby said the festival had become a must-do experience for music lovers nationwide.
"BASSINTHEGRASS is more than a music festival, it's a unique Territory experience," said Ms Boothby.
"Last year, one in four festivalgoers came from interstate, and they didn't just come for the music, they came for the adventure. They stayed longer, explored our national parks, cruised with crocodiles and soaked up our incredible hospitality.
"With new flight routes connecting Darwin to more destinations than ever, there's never been a better time to make BASSINTHEGRASS part of your travel plans."
The 2026 BASSINTHEGRASS line-up (A-Z) includes:
ANNA LUNOE B2B NINA LAS VEGAS
BALL PARK MUSIC
G FLIP
IN HEARTS WAKE
JESSB (NZ)
KITA ALEXANDER
MALLRAT
MAPLE'S PET DINOSAUR
PEKING DUK
TEEN JESUS AND THE JEAN TEASERS
THE TESKEY BROTHERS
VENJENT (UK)
More artists will be announced soon.
"This follows the launch of our new Visitor Economy Strategy, our plan to grow visitor spending from $1.5 billion to $2.2 billion and boost overnight trips from 1.2 million to 1.5 million by 2032," said Ms Boothby.
"Backing major events like BASSINTHEGRASS is central to that goal. The 2025 festival alone injected nearly $10 million into the Territory economy and supported hundreds of local jobs.
"From the Laksa Festival to the MXGP, the Territory keeps punching above its weight, and BASSINTHEGRASS shows how our laid-back lifestyle can drive real jobs and opportunities."
Artists are equally excited to be heading north:
In Hearts Wake: "We're beyond stoked to be part of BASSINTHEGRASS 2026. The NT is the red heart of the country, and BASSINTHEGRASS is such an important festival for the music scene."
Anna Lunoe: "So excited to be heading back to beautiful NT to see all the Top End baddies at BASSINTHEGRASS 2026. Can't wait to dance with you all!"
Maple's Pet Dinosaur: "I've always wanted to go to Darwin and now I've got the best reason ever. We're pumped to play BASSINTHEGRASS among a stacked line-up."
