Bayside City Council has received assurances from suppliers about the quality of mulch distributed in the municipality.
Council is aware of significant concerns raised about asbestos contamination in mulch in parks and playgrounds in Hobsons Bay and Merri-bek.
All Bayside playgrounds are inspected weekly and Council has not had any reports of contaminants found at these locations.
