Bayside Council's first Creative Industries Forum brought over 120 local artists and creative professionals together and provided an insight into Council's ongoing support for our growing creative industry.
Held in the Rockdale Town Hall on Thursday 31 July, the day was filled with inspirational insights from industry leaders who have chosen to make their home in Bayside.
The forum provided valuable insights from creative professionals living or working in Bayside, including theatre operators, performers and musicians, artists, designers and photographers.
Guests heard from Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall who outlined Council's ongoing commitment and support for Bayside's burgeoning arts sector.
Other keynote speakers included Anne Loxley, Executive Director Arts & Cultural Exchange (ACE), Victoria Moxey, Director Programs, Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner and Mark Lazarus, Senior Manager Destination Attraction, Screen NSW.
Attendees also enjoyed a guided tour of Rockdale's Creative Precinct that took in Aisle 10 Studios, the Astridge Lane Mural, as well as the studio of Sha'an d'Anthes and Rocket Weijers.
The event ended with music performances from Botany based VOH and Mach J who performed a set of original music.
