Bayside Parks Get Funding Boost

Bayside residents will soon enjoy improved parks and new green spaces thanks to Council's successful application for grant funding, totaling $350,000 for upgrades to two of our local parks.

The funding has been awarded through the Victorian Government's Pick My Park program, supporting upgrades that will enhance recreation, wellbeing and community connection across Bayside.

Funding was approved by the Hon. Harriet Shing MP, Minister for the Suburban Rail Loop, Housing and Building, and will be supported by Development Victoria and Precincts.

Pennydale Park will receive a $250,000 upgrade for new and improved play facilities designed for local families. The upgrade will enhance the park's existing playground and help ensure it continues to meet the needs of the growing community, offering a high‑quality recreational space close to home.

A new pocket park will be created in Willis Street with a $100,000 grant delivering much‑needed green space and a welcoming place for residents to relax, connect and gather. The project will transform the site into an inviting local open space for the surrounding neighbourhood.

These successful grant applications reflect Council's ongoing commitment to investing in open spaces that support healthy lifestyles, social connection and community wellbeing.

Both projects will be delivered within 24 months of the grant agreement being finalised.

The Victorian Government also announced that Round 2 of Pick My Park is now open until until 2 April 2026, with expanded eligibility across all 32 Melbourne municipalities.
