Congratulations to Derek Jones, who has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2025 King's Birthday Honours.
Derek is the founder and Convenor of Bayside Roads Litter Patrol, a dedicated group of volunteers who have been keeping Bayside beautiful since 2018 - removing litter from roadsides, parks, golf courses, shopping precincts and more, and reporting dumped rubbish, graffiti, and vandalism across our city.
A huge thank you to Derek and the Bayside Roads Litter Patrol team for your outstanding contribution to our community.
We also extend our congratulations to other Bayside residents recognised in this year's Honours List:

Mr Alan Peter Oppenheim AM - for significant service to the skin healthcare industry
Mr Anthony Henry Barry AM - for significant service to civil engineering
Ms Kathryn Fagg AO - for eminent service to business governance, public administration, and the not-for-profit sector.
