The Botany Aquatic Centre is set to host the 2023 State Swimming Championships on Saturday 11 March next year.
"I am delighted that our Botany pool will once again host this event that is expected to attract more than 1000 participants and supporters," Mayor Curry said.
Botany RSL Amateur Swimming Club has a long history of using Botany Aquatic Centre for swimming programs, carnivals and meets.
The Club has previously hosted the State Swimming Championships at Botany Aquatic Centre in 2008 and 2012.
Council will also support the event with the provision of Lifeguard services as well as operational support.
While the event will see the pool closed to the public on the day, Council will hold a free community event open to all Bayside residents the following day on Sunday 12 March 2023.
