Warwick Boosts Global Research With Trilateral Seed Fund Agreement

The University of Warwick has signed a trilateral Joint Seed Fund Agreement with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, establishing a new framework to support collaborative research and researcher mobility between the three institutions.

The agreement comes as the University celebrates One World Warwick November, a programme showcasing the international partnerships, collaborations, cultural celebrations, and opportunities that connect Warwick's community across the globe.

Signed during the World Class University Presidents Forum, the agreement will provide funding for early-stage research projects in frontier and interdisciplinary fields. The initiative will help researchers develop new international collaborations, strengthen academic networks and explore innovative solutions to shared global challenges.

Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Warwick, said:

This agreement reflects Warwick's commitment to developing meaningful global partnerships that deliver real impact. By bringing together the expertise of researchers from Warwick, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Nanyang Technological University, we are creating new opportunities for innovation, discovery and knowledge exchange across continents. We look forward to supporting collaborative research that addresses some of the most pressing challenges facing our world.

The partnership builds on existing relationships between the three universities while creating new opportunities for academics to work together across disciplines and borders. Alongside supporting joint research projects, the fund will encourage researcher mobility, strengthen academic networks and help develop long-term collaborations in areas of shared strategic interest.

The agreement further reinforces Warwick's commitment to international collaboration, creating new opportunities for its academics to work with leading partners across Asia and deliver research with global reach and impact.
