Bayside Woman Charged With Drug Trafficking

A Bayside woman has been charged with serious drug offences following an investigation into alleged trafficking in Melbourne's southeast.

An anonymous tip-off to Crime Stoppers in June about the alleged distribution of illicit substances culminated in the arrest of the 32-year-old last week.

Detectives from the Prahran Divisional Response Unit executed a search warrant on Dickens Street, Elwood just before 9am on Wednesday 24 September.

During a search of the apartment, police seized varying quantities of drugs of dependence including heroin, methylamphetamine, 1,4-Butanediol, cash, numerous prescription medications and several electronic devices.

The woman was arrested at scene and charged with more than 20 offences, including trafficking drug of dependence, possessing heroin, methylamphetamine, 1,4-Butanediol and cannabis, deal with property suspected proceeds of crime, as well as possessing five Schedule 4 poisons and several prescription medications.

She was also charged with seven counts of failing to comply with direction to provide assistance.

The Elwood woman appeared in Melbourne Magistrates' Court yesterday where she was granted bail to reappear in the same court on 11 November.
