Be Voice For Carers

Join the Carers Advisory Council in 2026.

This National Carers Week, Western Australian carers are encouraged to nominate to be a part of the Carers Advisory Council.

The Carers Advisory Council provides advice to the Minister for Community Services on the needs of the estimated 320,000 unpaid carers in Western Australia.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Carers Advisory Council are open and mark the start of National Carers Week.

National Carers Week 2025 launched on Sunday 12 and runs until Saturday 18 October 2025 with the theme 'You are one, know one, or will be one'.

Three million Australians take on caring responsibilities for a family member or friend, which means you either likely know a carer, are a carer yourself or will become one at some point during your life.

The Carers Advisory Council comprises up to ten member positions to represent and advocate on behalf of WA's carers. Positions are for a term of two years, commencing in mid 2026.

WA residents with experience as a carer, especially people from Aboriginal or culturally diverse backgrounds, and young carers aged up to 25 years, are encouraged to apply.

To learn more about the council and participate in the EOI before it closes on Friday 7 November 2025, please visit the Expression of Interest for Carers Advisory Council webpage .

This Carers Week, take the time to acknowledge and reach out to unpaid carer colleagues or carers in your own life, in any way you feel is appropriate.

Visit the Carers Week webpage for support and resources.
