More than 40 different organisations will showcase their services, programs and initiatives as part of the first Become Connected Expo.

Scheduled to take place from 10am to 4pm at the Mildura Sporting Precinct on Friday 14 October, community members are being invited to learn more about services and programs available locally to support ageing community members, people with a disability and their carers.

The Expo, which is free to attend, will feature information presentations, workshops and fun activities, which will cover topics including road safety, legal support, mental health services, elder rights and much more.

Councillor for Community Health and Wellbeing Troy Bailey encourages those interested to attend the free Expo.

"In addition to learning more about the services and initiatives available to support people with a disability, senior residents and carers, there will also be a chance to engage in a number of fun activities," he said.

"This includes fitness for all abilities, gardening, learning more out about water bugs, discovering equipment like scooters, massage recliners, power wheelchairs and learning about daily living aids and mobility aids.

"There will also be a chance to learn about volunteer opportunities."

The Become Connected Expo forms part of Mildura Rural City Council's Seniors Festival program of events, which are running throughout October.
