Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio today (March 4) encouraged students to "work hard and believe in themselves".
"Schooling is an important part of one's life and it very often gives you the direction and the opportunity that you never thought you had," Mayor Antonio said.
Student leaders from 25 Toowoomba Region Secondary Schools joined the annual Mayor and Councillors' function at the Highfields Cultural Centre to recognise their leadership roles in 2021.
New members of Council's 2021 Regional Youth Leaders program were also welcomed into their leadership roles at the event.
Mayor Antonio said it was a great honour to recognise the achievements of the 2021 school leaders and the future leaders of our Region.
