Beloved Woody Woodpecker sequel to film in Australia

The sequel to the family comedy Woody Woodpecker is the latest international movie to be drawn to Australia, bringing back the world famous woodpecker's signature laugh, wacky antics and wisecracks. It is expected to inject more than $20 million into the Australian economy and create more than 700 jobs for Australian cast and crew, more than 300 extras roles, and use the services of an estimated 130 businesses across the country.

This production will receive $2.7 million through our Location Incentive and additional support from the Victorian Government through Film Victoria's Victorian Screen Incentive, and will be filmed in Melbourne and across regional areas of Victoria once lockdown restrictions allow, with post-production work extending out to December 2022.

To date, the Australian Government has distributed more than $246 million under the Location Incentive program to attract 25 international productions to Australia.
