Bertram Bushfire

Strike Force Vulcan detectives are seeking public assistance as they investigate a bushfire that occurred in Bertram on Friday, 1 March 2024.

About 2am, a motorcycle was stolen from a unit complex in Cockburn Central.

A short time later, about 2.35am, the stolen motorcycle was set on fire in bushland on Holden Close in Bertram causing two hectares of damage.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released CCTV footage of two people on motorcycles who may be able to assist with the investigation.

People reporting information to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous if they wish.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
