Best and Brightest 2019 Students Honoured at NT Board of Studies Awards

The Northern Territory's outstanding class of 2019 students have been celebrated at the annual Northern Territory Board of Studies (NTBOS) Awards.

At last night's ceremony at Parliament House, 46 students from the Top End were recognised, one week after 16 Central Australian students were honoured at a ceremony in Alice Springs.

The NT Board of Studies recognises student achievement every year, with the top scoring students from across the Territory in primary, middle and secondary years officially awarded for their efforts in the 2019 school year.

Awards include certificates of merit, industry sponsored awards, vocational education and training awards, the Top 20 NTCET completers, and the Chief Minister's awards.

As stated by Minister for Education, Selena Uibo.

"Last year was an exceptional year for NT education with a record 1446 students completing their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training.

"We also had the highest number of Aboriginal students complete their NTCET in Territory history, with 221 receiving certificates.

"Unlike the CLP, the Territory Labor Government will always invest in education, and the increasing number of year 12 completers is testament to the fact this investment is yielding results.

"Congratulations to all students honoured at last night's NTBOS awards ceremony and those who were recognised in Alice Springs – you have done the Territory proud.

"Thank you also to the many principals, teachers, support staff, family and friends who worked tirelessly to help our students to achieve such excellent results."
