The Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee is seeking feedbackon a draft biomethane method package under the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF).
The ERF incentivises Australian businesses to cut greenhouse gases and undertake activities that store carbon.
A biomethane project captures biogas from organic waste and upgrades it into biomethane. The biomethane is then combusted as a natural gas substitute or feedstock for industrial processes.
The method package introduces biomethane activities to 3 ERF waste management methods:
