Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in Davos, Switzerland. The Secretary thanked Germany for continued support for Ukraine as it fights to defend its freedom and independence. They also discussed urgent efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza as well as to prevent the conflict from spreading. The Secretary and Foreign Minister reaffirmed a joint commitment to safeguard commercial shipping and civilians in the Red Sea.
