Blinken Meets With Peru's Foreign Minister González-Olaechea

As stated by Spokesperson Matthew Miller:

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Peruvian Foreign Minister Javier González-Olaechea at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister González-Olaechea discussed collaboration on safe, orderly, and humane migration management and their mutual affirmed commitment to regional economic cooperation. Secretary Blinken also thanked the Government of Peru for its support during the U.S. APEC host year and congratulated it on agreeing to host the APEC forum in 2024. The Secretary and the Foreign Minister also discussed deepening the substantial and concrete U.S.-Peru partnership on democracy, respect for human rights, and inclusive economic growth. They agreed to have their ministries organize an in-depth, structured dialogue in the coming year.
