Blue vehicle vital clue in Bridgewater shooting investigation, TAS

A blue Holden Commodore remains a vital clue in relation to the ongoing Bridgewater shooting investigation, Tasmania Police say.

"Detectives would remind people of the blue Holden Commodore, registration DQ8428, that is a key piece of the puzzle.  The vehicle was later recovered burnt out but this vehicle is distinctive and may have been captured by CCTV in the local area or around Hobart," Detective Inspector Craig Joel.

Police are continuing to investigate a brutal targeted attack in Albion Road, Bridgewater, on Sunday night where a 24 year old man was shot in the stomach.

"The person or people responsible have not yet been found," Detective Inspector Joel said.

Police divers have this week searched the Jordan River near Gagebrook looking for items important to the investigation. Some items were recovered and are subject to forensic and other testing.

"There has been a great deal of information provided to police by the public and detectives are working through this," Detective Inspector Joel said.

The man remains in an induced coma but his condition is stable.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
