Boags set to be this year's Taste of Summer

Tasmanian business James Boag's Brewery has been announced as the official beer partner for this year's Taste of Summer festival which will be taking over PW1 over the post-Christmas and New Year period.

Waterfront festivities have been an important part of event culture in Tasmania for the past 30 years, and it's great to see an iconic Tasmanian brand join the Taste of Summer festival as official beer partner in the newest entry to our event calendar.

In addition to Boags, Taste will host a number of micro-breweries to showcase a range of other locally produced beer.

There is no doubt that the past 18 months have been extremely difficult for the brewing sector, and it's wonderful to see the return of large-scale events which showcase the best of our local producers.

I would like to commend James Boag's Brewery on their commitment to Tasmania, with 2021 marking 140 years since its inception on banks of the North Esk River in Launceston.

Tasmania produces some of the best food and beverages in the world, and it will be fantastic to have so many Tassie producers in one place showcasing their goods.

I would encourage Tasmanians to take the opportunity to come along to the Taste of Summer event to support our producers and enjoy what will be an innovative new take on an iconic Tasmanian event.

Taste of Summer will run from December 28, 2021 to January 3, 2022 at Princes Wharf, Salamanca Place.
