As stated by Hamilton Area Commander, Inspector Scott Miller:
Police have recovered a body from the Waikato River following a search operation today.
The body is confirmed to be the man who was reported missing around 1.30am, when he was suspected to have entered the water near Swarbrick Landing off River Road where he left his clothes and cell phone behind.
An extensive search was launched with the assistance of Search and Rescue boats, drones, and a Police helicopter.
The man's body was located near River Oaks Place, approximately 3km from where he was first reported missing from.
Police extend their deepest condolences to the man's family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
Police would also like to thank all those involved in the search and the members of public who kept an eye out for items of interest in the area.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
