Body of missing Blackheath woman located at Blue Mountains

A body, believed to be that of a woman missing from Blackheath, has been located in the Blue Mountains.

The 54-year-old woman was last seen in the vicinity of Evans Lookout Road, Blackheath, about 6am yesterday (Monday 3 May 2021).

She was reported missing to officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command, who have commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Following a land and air search of the surrounding area, a body was located in the Grose Valley near the Valley View Lookout about 10.30am today (Tuesday 4 May 2021).

The body is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the missing woman.

A recovery operation is expected to be conducted tomorrow (Wednesday 5 May 2021).

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
