Body of missing man found at Narrabri 20 October

A body – believed to be that of a man missing from Narrabri – has been located in the state's north west today.

The man was last seen on a rural property on Old Gunnedah Road, about 7am on Saturday (16 October 2021).

Later that morning, he was reported missing to officers from Oxley Police District, who commenced inquiries to locate him.

Following a multi-day large-scale coordinated land, air and water search of the surrounding areas, a volunteer assisting with the search found the man's body about 9.40am today (Wednesday 20 October 2021).

The body was recovered by police divers with the assistance of Western Region Police Rescue a short time later.

The body is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the 25-year-old man.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
