Body recovered from Chipping Norton Lake

The body of a teenage boy has been recovered from a lake in Sydney's south west.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command were notified after a 14-year-old boy slipped into Chipping Norton Lake, near McMillan Park, about 3pm today (Saturday 18 December 2021).

Emergency services attended after the boy failed to resurface.

Following an extensive search by Marine Area Command and police divers, about 4.45pm (Saturday 18 December 2021), the boy's body was retrieved from the water.

He has been formally identified as the missing 14-year-old boy.

A crime scene was established, and police are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
