Bolte Bolters Charged

Detectives from Casey Crime Investigation Unit have arrested and charged two teenagers who fled from a crashed and overturned vehicle on the Bolte Bridge yesterday.

The two 14-year-old girls were arrested by investigators this morning in the greater Frankston area.

They have both been charged with aggravated burglary, burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and theft.

The arrests follow a collision in the south bound lanes of the Bolte Bride on Wednesday 30 September about 8.15am where an allegedly stolen Mitsubishi Eclipse clipped a truck and flipped.

Two females and a male were seen running from the allegedly stolen vehicle and fled the scene.

The driver of the truck wasn't injured.

Detectives will allege the vehicle was stolen from outside a gym on Thompsons Road in Cranbourne North on Monday 29 September just after 9.15pm.

It's believed the teens entered the gym and rifled through lockers before they made off with a set of keys.

The duo met up with a male in the carpark and are alleged to have driven off in the Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Investigators have ongoing enquiries to make in relation to the male who was also seen running from the crash scene on Wednesday.

The teens, both from the Frankston area, have been held over to appear before a children's court tomorrow, Friday 2 October.

Anyone with information or anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
