BOM increases Kempsey flood warning level

The Bureaue of Meteorology has issued a new flood warning #13 for the Macleay River.

Flood Warning #13 includes an increased predicted level for Kempsey for Thursday morning.

Moderate flooding happening at Kempsey and possible at Smithtown

Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Macleay River.

The Macleay River at Georges Creek peaked at 6.92 metres around 09:00 pm

Wednesday and is currently at 6.82 metres and falling with minor flooding.

The Macleay River at Bellbrook peaked at 7.10 metres around 09:00 pm Wednesday

and is currently at 6.93 metres and falling with minor flooding.

The Macleay River at Kempsey (AHD) is likely to peak near 6.30 metres around

06:00 am Thursday with moderate flooding.

The Macleay River at Smithtown is likely to exceed the moderate flood level

(4.00 m) around 03:00 am Thursday. The river level is likely to peak near 4.10

metres Thursday morning with moderate flooding.

* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely

to flood.

* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.

* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive

and dangerous.
