- Cook Labor Government investing in safe and inclusive communities this Children's Week
A contract to deliver a new therapeutic service to support children and young people impacted by family and domestic violence in Gosnells and Armadale has been awarded to Save the Children Australia.
The therapeutic service model recognises that children and young people impacted by family and domestic violence have their own recovery and support needs, separate from adults.
The Cook Labor Government has allocated $1 million over two years for the provision of a range of supports and services including one-to-one counselling and family-based case management and therapeutic healing, outreach, and advocacy.
It will also offer support for caregivers to help them understand the impacts of family and domestic violence.
This investment is part of the Cook Government's $8.23 million package aimed at supporting children and young people impacted by family and domestic violence.
It delivers on a key ask of the 2023 Family and Domestic Violence Summit and aligns with the Family and Domestic Violence System Reform Plan.
Children's Week is held from Saturday, 18 October to Sunday, 26 October 2025. This year's theme is: 'Everyone should know about Children's Rights!'
