Boy assaulted, witnesses sought, NSW

Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was seriously assaulted on the state’s south coast overnight, NSW Police say.

About 10.15pm today, police have been told a 17-year-old boy was with a group of friends at a campfire on Culburra Beach, Culburra.

A group of men approached the group before striking the boy with a bottle and punching him repeatedly in the face.

The boy was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital, suffering a suspected fractured jaw.

Police attached to Shoalhaven Local Area Command attended and have commenced an investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
