Boy charged after pursuit in Nowra

A teen has been charged after a pursuit with a stolen motorcycle in the Shoalhaven region, NSW Police say.

About 2.40pm today (Friday 3 November 2017), police attempted to stop a motorcycle on Nineveh Close, Nowra, after it was earlier spotted being ridden in a dangerous manner.

The motorcycle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated which continued for about a minute before the driver entered a ravine where he fell off the motorcycle and fled on foot but was eventually captured.

The bike was found to be stolen.

The 17-year-old was taken to Nowra Police Station before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for assessment and for blood and urine tests.

Once he was released from hospital he was conveyed to Nowra Police Station and charged with police pursuit; drive manner dangerous; goods in custody; dive unlicensed; and drive conveyance without consent of owner.

He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court tomorrow (Saturday 4 November 2017).
