Boy charged with firearm offences at Gunnedah

A boy will face court today charged with firearm offences in the state's north yesterday.

About 1.15pm yesterday (Thursday 3 August 2023), police commenced an investigation following reports a handgun was allegedly produced inside a business on the corner of Elgin and Conadilly Street, Gunnedah.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home in Gunnedah about 2.50pm and arrested a 15-year-old boy.

Police searched a vehicle at the premises, where they located and seized a gel blaster.

The boy was charged with possess unauthorised pistol, and possess unregistered firearm pistol.

He was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Friday 4 August 2023).
