Boy injured in hit and run crash in Richmond

Police are investigating the circumstances of a fail to stop crash that occurred in Sydney’s north-west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 9.20pm (Monday 5 November 2018), a 14-year-old boy was found lying the Bells Line of Road, North Richmond, on the western side of the North Richmond Bridge, by a passing motorist.

The motorist stopped and called police who arrived on scene to find the boy suffering suspected fractures and head injuries.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene has been established on the eastern side of the North Richmond Bridge where investigators believe the boy was hit by a car that left the scene.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are conducting further inquiries and would like to speak with anyone who may have information that could assist.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
