Brand New Classrooms For Seaford Students

Seaford students now have bigger, better classrooms and facilities, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education James Merlino today opened Seaford Park Primary School’s $3 million upgrade, which replaces relocatable classrooms with brand new, state of the art facilities.

Students and staff will now be able to enjoy eight new classrooms, a new library and gallery, assembly space and office space.

The grounds have also been landscaped with native trees and outdoor learning areas, and $240,000 of funding went towards removing asbestos from old school buildings.

The school’s upgrade will mean teachers can deliver the 21st century education local students need to succeed.

Mr Merlino also announced that the school would be receiving an additional $200,000 to create flexible outdoor learning spaces at the school.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so every student can access a great local school. We have invested more than $3.8 billion to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across Victoria.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1,300 school upgrades and 70 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.

As stated by Minister for Education James Merlino

"We’re building and upgrading schools here and right across the state because no matter where you live, you deserve access to a great local school."

"Seaford Park School is a great local school and only Labor is investing in facilities that reflect the hard work and commitment of teachers and staff, and enable students to reach their full potential."

As noted by Member for Carrum Sonya Kilkenny

"Every student deserves access to great local facilities and that is why we have delivered new classrooms for Seaford Park Primary School, so they can have facilities that match the wonderful teaching already underway."
