Break and enter charges, Townville

Police have charged two men and a teenage girl following multiple break ins across Townsville on Sunday and Monday.

Between 9pm on August 23 and 12.30am August 24, police will allege the two men broke into car dealerships in Hyde Park, Townsville City, Garbutt, Mt Louisa and Mundingburra.

In Townsville City, they allegedly stole two Volkswagens, but abandoned one in the street. At Hyde Park, a Ford Ranger was stolen.

An 18-year-old man from Garbutt has been charged with six counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence, two counts each of stealing and burglary and one count each of attempted enter dwelling with intent, attempted enter premises with intent, enter dwelling with intent at night and possessing tainted property.

A 20-year-old man from Garbutt has been charged with four counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and entering a premises and committing an indictable offence and one count of common assault.

The 20-year-old man's charges also relate to a break in at a shop Yolanda Drive, Annandale.

It will be alleged, around 5.15am on August 22, a glass front door was smashed before multiple people entered the shop and stole cash and other items before fleeing the scene.

A 14-year-old girl from West End has also been charged with stealing, entering a premises and committing an indictable offence and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle in relation to the Annandale incident.

They were all due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today.
