Brentwood Incident

Fremantle Detectives are seeking information from the public in relation to an incident that occurred in Brentwood overnight, 18 December 2023.

About 10.45pm, a 57-year-old man was on Cranford Avenue in Brentwood when an unknown person ran up to him and splashed accelerant on his clothing before setting it alight.

The man suffered burns to a large portion of his chest and stomach. The man was able to return to his vehicle and drive to a service station on Canning Highway in Como to seek assistance.

The man was conveyed to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.

Detectives wish to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident. Anyone with information, CCTV or dash-cam vision of the area around shopping area of Cranford and Parkside Avenues taken between 10.50pm and 11pm, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperwa.com.au.
