Briefs Boys to air their 'Dirty Laundry' in risqué show

Theatregoers in Townsville should brace themselves for an unforgettable night of circus, drag, dance, burlesque, music and comedy when 'Dirty Laundry' comes to Townsville Civic Theatre on Thursday 28 September 2023.

This world-renowned show comes from the highly acclaimed Australian creative collective Briefs Factory and has toured across the globe at theatres and festivals.

Critics described this adults-only show as the perfect blend of flesh, acrobats, dance, boylesque and brilliance as the wonderful Fez Faanana (AKA Shivanana) leads the Briefs boys in this brand-new party cabaret.

With impossible-to-remove glitter stains, these festival favourites promise a load of physicality, comedy, and showmanship, none of it clean.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said this unique offering would be a night to remember and encouraged any Townsville residents interested in a glorious night out to book their tickets online now.

"Dirty Laundry looks like outrageous fun," Cr Greaney said.

"This show has had huge success across Australia and internationally and it's great to see exceptional productions like this way make their way to our city and perform at our fantastic Townsville Civic Theatre."

Townsville Civic Theatre has hosted some incredible shows already this year including the internationally acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir and the 1RAR Band in Concert.

There's also a host of exciting shows coming up at the theatre, including hit musical Chicago on 4 October, Anh Do - The Happiest Refugee Live! on 18 October and the Royal Czech Ballet performing Sleeping Beauty on 24 October 2023.

"This stellar line up at Townsville Civic Theatre is another example of Townsville proving itself as the events capital of Northern Australia, Cr Greaney said.

"Council is committed to supporting these wonderful live shows and keeping our city a sustainable destination that embraces and participates in the arts, sports, events and recreational activities."
