Brimbank advocates for gender equality

Brimbank Council is supporting Respect Victoria's 'Respect Women: Call it Out' 16 Days of Activism campaign which starts on 25 November, coinciding with International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, until 10 December, which marks Human Rights Day.

Brimbank residents are encouraged to get behind the global campaign by educating yourself around gender equality, taking action to change gender inequalities and being accountable to women and gender-diverse people.

The Respect Victoria campaign is focused on engaging communities in conversations about what respect means to each of us, what respect looks like and how to put respect into practice, especially in the context of gender equality.

Council is committed to promoting gender equality, preventing violence against women and all forms of gender-based violence, and supporting victims of violence, through our Fairness Equality and Respect Strategy (2019-2023).
