Brimbank Highway Patrol shut down hoon gathering

Police from Brimbank Highway Patrol are expected to issue over $240,000 worth of fines after at least 300 people gathered at a hoon meet in the Northern suburbs last night (10 June).

A 17-year-old Dallas teen was sprayed with OC spray after he hindered police.

He was released and is expected to be charged on summons with hinder police and offensive language.

The offence of 'attend a hoon event' attracts an $800 fine and it is expected that close to 300 people will be issued with penalty notices in the coming days.
