The British Embassy Dublin has officially achieved its AsIAm autism accreditation, becoming the first autism-friendly embassy in the FCDO network.

The British Embassy Dublin today officially achieved its AsIAm Autism Accreditation, becoming the first autism-friendly Embassy in Ireland, and the first in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) network.

The accreditation recognises more than 18 months of work to create a fully inclusive and accessible environment for visitors and staff alike. This was led by the Embassy's respect, diversity and inclusion committee and supported by AsIAm, Ireland's Autism Charity.

The initiative included staff training, consultation, and practical changes such as the creation of sensory rooms and wayfinding supports to ensure the Embassy is more welcoming and supportive for all.

The team look forward to building on this progress, including by making the residence autism friendly, in 2026.
