The Property Council of Australia today said the NSW Government's 2025-26 Budget continued to deliver on infrastructure required to support growth in Western Sydney ahead of the opening of Western Sydney International Airport in 2026.
Property Council Western Sydney Regional Director Ross Grove said large-scale infrastructure megaprojects such as Sydney Metro West, Sydney Metro (Western Sydney Airport) and Stage 2 of Parramatta Light Rail continue, and this positions Western Sydney to drive the next chapter of the state's economic and housing growth.
"The Airport is coming - and so are tens of thousands of workers and residents. The Budget responds to our sustained calls for better connectivity across the region," Mr Grove said.
"Whether it's upgrades to state roads like Richmond Road and Fifteenth Avenue, or the delivery of enhanced regional bus networks, this Budget provides connectivity to meet the immediate needs of the region.
"State and federal governments have already spent $25.5 billion in delivering the Airport and infrastructure required to support jobs in the Western Sydney Aerotropolis - the Budget gets on with the task of delivering the connecting links needed for local residents to tap into the benefits of this activity."
The Property Council's Budget Submission called for a comprehensive vision for South-West and Macarthur regions, including advanced planning and investment in water systems, road networks, schools, and connections between growth areas.
"New schools at Wilton and Grantham Farm are on the way, and many of the road projects are in the planning stage. Future Budgets will need to make provision to get shovels into the ground and keep the region growing," Mr Grove said.
"Going forward, we will need to tap into the ideas and proposals of the development industry to partner with government in bringing forward key projects - particularly where there are opportunities to deliver new homes.
"Strategic investment now will unlock greenfield development, support workforce access, and lift quality of life for new communities."
New funding commitments for Western Sydney:

- $644 million investment in stormwater and recycled water infrastructure in the Mamre Road Precinct - home to Australia's largest integrated stormwater scheme.
- A $369.9 million package for expanded bus services in Western Sydney.
