Budget to secure Tasmania's future passes Parliament

Peter Gutwein,Premier

The 2021-22 Tasmanian Budget has today passed both Houses of Parliament, officially delivering the strong plan we took to the people at the May election.

The Budget delivers on our plan to secure Tasmania's future and fully funds our 2021 election commitments.

The Budget will also support around 28,000 jobs, while providing funding for new initiatives to meet increased demand for essential services, especially in our health system and supporting vulnerable Tasmanians.

And with COVID-19 remaining an ever-present threat, it provides the flexibility to ensure we can continue to respond to the impacts of the pandemic, with $300 million included in the Treasurer's Reserve in the 2021-22 Budget and across the Forward Estimates.

With the Budget now officially passing both Houses of Parliament, we will continue getting on with the job to deliver our plan to secure Tasmania's future.
