Territory Wildlife Park has unveiled its first new exhibit in a decade, with 'Bugtopia', showcasing the Territory's bug life in time for the school holidays.
The Park has recorded its best May since opening, as the government supports industry to grow the Territory's range of bookable products.
The Finocchiaro CLP Government will continue to unlock new opportunities in our parks as we grow our visitor economy and restore our unique Territory lifestyle.
A new exhibit has the Top End buzzing, as the Territory Wildlife Park puts a bug's life on display with 'Bugtopia'.
Visitors to the Park will now be able explore all things creepy and crawly, alongside baby pelicans at the Billabong, sugar gliders in the Nocturnal House, hawk walks, dingo hikes, whipray feeding, and reptile encounters.
Minister for Parks and Wildlife and Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Marie-Clare Boothby, said Bugtopia was yet another example of the Finocchiaro CLP Government creating more opportunities for families and visitors to enjoy all that makes the Territory one-of-a-kind.
"The Territory Wildlife Park is a must-see Top End tourism attraction, for locals, schools, and visitors who want to get up close and personal with our wildlife," Minister Boothby said.
"New exhibits like Bugtopia don't just boost the appeal for our parks - they offer our schools another learning experience, and give locals more ways to get to know our unique natural environment."
"This is exactly the kind of practical investment our Government is backing as we restore our unique Territory lifestyle and support more Territorian families to get out and enjoy our parks."
Territory Wildlife Park Director, Rob Hall, said Bugtopia would also improve our understanding of the small creatures that play a big role in the Top End.
"Bugtopia shines a light on insects, arachnids and other small species that are often overlooked, but are incredibly important to healthy ecosystems," Mr Hall said.
"It also builds on our momentum. This May has been our biggest on record, and we are excited about what's ahead for the Territory Wildlife Park."
The Bugtopia exhibit is the latest in a series of new encounters in the Territory's wildlife parks, as baby bilbies and bandicoots captivate visitors in Alice Springs, and as work continues at Territory Wildlife Park to complete a brand-new Butterfly Gorge, set to open later this year.
