Burglary with violence in Bellemere, QLD

Police are investigating following a burglary with violence that occurred in a Bellemere home early this morning, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary investigations indicate just after 4am, approximately four people have entered a home on Bellemere Road.

An occupant of the house, a 45-year-old man, has awoken on hearing noises coming from the lounge room and has gone to investigate.

On entering the room, the 45-year-old has been kicked, punched, struck in the back of the head with a chair and struck across his back with a metal pole.

The offenders fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The 45-year-old man sustained lacerations, bruising, and broken ribs. He was transported to the Caboolture Hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around 4am to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Investigations are continuing.
