Detectives from Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating a burglary with violence overnight in Kuraby.
Around 11pm, a group of unknown men forced entry into a Lema Court address and confronted a male occupant.
A firearm was produced and several shots were fired.
The 22-year-old man fled on foot.
The group of men left the scene in a white SUV.
No one was physically injured and nothing was stolen from the address.
Initial investigations indicate the incident was targeted and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
A crime scene has been declared at the residence.
Around 1.30am this morning a white Toyota Prado, believe to be the same vehicle from the earlier incident, was set alight on Sandringham Street in Mansfield.
Investigations are continuing into both incidents.
Detectives appeal for anyone with CCTV or dash cam vision of either incident to contact police.
