That's why Labor is delivering more buses, more often - boosting services to better connect our suburbs.
The Victorian Budget 2026/27 invests almost $100 million to:
- Expand bus hours and weekend services
- Deliver new and upgraded routes in growing suburbs
- Boost services connecting to universities
Northern suburbs
- Improving access to La Trobe Uni, with additional weekday and evening services (Routes 301, 551 and 561)
- More evening services and Sunday trips extended between Roxburgh Park and Pascoe Vale (Route 542)
- More services in the evening between Mernda Station and RMIT Bundoora (Routes 386 and 387)
- More evening trips, improving connections to Sydney Road, Brunswick and Northcote stations (Routes 508 and 526)
Western suburbs
- Delivering a new bus network for Melton South with two new routes
- A new connection to Woodgrove Shopping Centre and double the frequency (Route 454)
- More services between Moonee Ponds and Watergardens Station (Route 476)
- Longer operating hours and more Sunday services between St Albans Station and Highpoint (Route 408)
- A more direct link between Laverton Station and Aircraft (Routes 496 and 498)
Eastern and southeastern suburbs
- Longer operating hours, more Saturday services and a new Sunday service between The Pines to Nunawading Station (Route 273)
- An additional service during school times between Box Hill Station and Burwood via Surrey Hills (Route 766)
- Longer hours during the week and more weekend services, and introducing Sunday trips (Route 885)
- Upgrading, extending routes across Botanic Ridge, Casey Fields, Clyde, Junction Village, Devon Meadows
- Extending the route to operate between Karingal Hub Shopping Centre and Seaford (Route 777)
- Better connections from Dandenong to Chadstone and Monash Uni (Routes 802, 804 and 862)
- Longer operating hours on weekdays, more Saturday services and new Sunday services (Route 236)
- Increasing weekend frequencies for services between Carrum and Frankston (Route 833)
- Longer operating hours between Berwick and Pakenham (Route 928)
Regional Victoria
- A new route connecting Drysdale and Ocean Grove
- Adding an additional return trip every day between Castlemaine and Harcourt (Route 3)
- More services on Bass Coast Coach routes from Cowes and Inverloch to Dandenong
