Bushfire crisis: RMIT statement

The RMIT community expresses its deep sympathy for the hardship and loss resulting from bushfires across the country.

The bravery of emergency service workers is inspirational, as is the courage of people who live and work in the affected regions.

RMIT has established a Bushfire Financial Assistance Grant program to provide immediate financial support (up to $1500) for staff and students directly impacted by the bushfires.

Our counselling support services are available to any students and staff who are impacted by the fires and we encourage them to reach out if they feel this would be helpful.

Support numbers are as follows:

  • RMIT student support: 9925 5000 (follow the prompts, including after hours)
  • RMIT staff support: 1300 786 860 and 0431 119 909 (after hours)
