Business Boosting Vouchers Inject Over $11m into Local Economy

NT Government

Territorians have spent over $11 million at local retail and hospitality venues, with the help of the Territory Labor Government's highly-popular myTerritory voucher scheme.

The Territory Government partnered with City of Darwin, City of Palmerston, Alice Springs Town Council, Katherine Town Council, Litchfield Council and Barkly Regional Council to encourage local spending and help drive the Territory's economy.

The popular scheme first launched in 2020 and allows Territorians to register, receive and redeem vouchers via mobile devices to spend at participating locally owned businesses.

The myTerritory voucher scheme has now ended for three of the six participating councils; Darwin, Litchfield and Alice Springs.

myPalmerston, myKatherine and myBarkly are all still operating, with locals and visitors eligible to sign up and save up to $40 per day by shopping at participating local businesses.

The Northern Territory Government contributed $1.5 million as part of a partnership with six participating local governments, who contributed $680,000 towards the scheme.

This investment supported the local retail and hospitality industries in managing the ongoing effects of Covid-19 shutdowns and travel restrictions.
