Call for Applications - Filming Production Team

A. Background

UNESCO Office in Viet Nam and Ninh Binh People's Committee have collaborated to implement the project "Promote Quality Heritage Tourism in Trang An World Heritage Site". Within the framework of the project, a contest of "Telling Heritage through Painting" is organized to improve the local students in primary and lower-secondary schools on Outstanding Universal Values of the heritage site, heritage conservation and development. It also aims to encourage the engagement of youth and children in art creativity and cultural expression in different ways.

This process needs documented to share the experience with other WHS and UNESCO partners. Therefore, UNESCO is seeking for a service provider to produce a documentary film along this contest.

B. Assignments

Under the coordination of the Senior Project Assistant and acting upon the supervision of the Chief of Culture unit at UNESCO Ha Noi Office, the contractor shall be responsible for the production of a Documentary film on the UNESCO Contest "Telling Heritage through paintings" in Trang An WHS area, Ninh Binh Province. Specific tasks include as of followings:

1. Develop a film script for the documentary film in consultation with and agreed with UNESCO responsible staff;

2. Conduct the filming of the UNESCO contest activities in the field and interviews with participating students and relevant partners.

3. Produce a complete documentary film with main language in Vietnamese and subtitles in English.

4. Ensure the legal rights of all materials used for the production of the documentary film, including but not limited to: images, music, sounds, softwares; and the compliance with the UNESCO standards and principles in IP rights, gender equality and culturally sensitive approach.

C. Deliverables:

The deliverables include the specifications as of followings:

1. A full script for the documentary film and a timeline of filming plan in the field;

2. A final documentary film, which shall be of maximum five (05) minutes length; in MP4 format; Vietnamese original language and English subtitles. The copyright of the final documentary film will be of UNESCO, as stipulated in this contract.

3. A financial invoice for the documentary film package.

D. Contract amount and Duration:

- The assignment is expected to take place within 10 weeks, during April - June 2021.

- The quotation shall exclude the travel costs for filming activities in the field (Ninh Binh Province). The travel cost according to the agreed filming plan will be covered by UNESCO.

E. Application and Procedure

Applications include the following documents:

  1. Institution/Company profile;
  2. Proposed workplan (including timeline and creative brief of direction);
  3. Financial proposal.
