Calling on interested youth to join our crews

The township-based Youth Crews will be made up of groups of young people who will come together to create opportunities and connections for young people in their community and across the shire.

The groups will work alongside Youth Development Officer Annette Walton organising local activities, advocating for youth-focused needs in their community, learning leadership skills and connecting with other young people in their community.

Or, if music is more your thing, you can sign up to be a part of Council's FReeZA Crew.

Also working with Annette, the FReeZA Crew will also get opportunities to learn all aspects of event management including sound engineering, pre and post-production, performance skills, marketing and media as well as exploring various education and employment pathways in the music industry.

Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Chris Raeburn encouraged youth to engage with Council to create opportunities and connections for young people in their community and across the shire.

"It is an opportunity to get involved, feel empowered and form a sound foundation for youth to develop their resumes and network with professionals," he said.

"We want our Shire to be a place where young people can enjoy their lifestyles and where there is lots on offer for youth."

The township crews will also come together on a regularly to converge their ideas from across the Shire.

There will be no application process; Council would like youth to simply express their interest by using the Share Strathbogie engagement portal online via share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au or contact Annette Walton via 0456 631 912.
