Cr Therese Fedeli and Cr Ashleigh Cagney have been elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Camden respectively, at last night's Ordinary Council Meeting.
Mayor Fedeli said she was honoured to be elected as the Mayor of Camden for a third, non-consecutive term.
"I'm as committed as ever to be supporting our residents, continuing Council's great work and achieving the best outcomes for the Camden area and everyone who calls it home," she said.
"My key priorities continue to be delivering more green spaces and amenities for local families, improving transport interconnection and increasing support for our local community.
"As a former small businesswoman, and as a mother and grandmother, I also prioritise creating
more local opportunities. I want the next generation and the ones that follow to have the option of
great jobs in this community, rather than having to commute for hours.
"I'm so excited to be working with my fellow Councillors during such an important and exciting time for the Camden area, as we continue to grow and change. I'd like to congratulate Cr Cagney on being elected Deputy Mayor - I look forward to working alongside you and creating lasting and positive change for our area."
Deputy Mayor, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said she was very excited to serve in the role.
"It was a privilege to serve this community as the 35th Mayor of Camden for the past few years and I'm excited for this next adventure," she said.
Camden's greatest strength has always been its community spirit. Our ability to support one another in times of challenge and to celebrate our many successes is truly second to none.
"This spirit has inspired me throughout my time as Mayor and will continue to guide me as I serve as Camden's Deputy Mayor."
